Performed by two recognized experts in their respective fields, this workshop addresses two of the most important but rarely discussed aspects of being a true photographic artist – the final print.

Cheryl Kelleher Walsh, leading Underwater Fine Art Portrait Photographer and successful Portrait Business Owner, will discuss why creating her own fine art prints has contributed to her growth as a photographic artist and taken her business to the next level. She will share the powerful impact she has experienced by feeling like a “complete artist,” coming full circle from inception of idea, execution of concept, mastery in editing and completion of a tangible, final physical, self-created, fine art print. She will present her art as a context for helping you understand why printing one’s own work is such an integral part of being a successful and fulfilled artist.

Eric Joseph, recognized expert in professional digital printing, will present the secrets of digital printmaking, providing you with a sense of confidence, truly useful technical knowledge, and the pathway to making you a better artist. Bring a flash/hard drive with a few images that represent your work. Eric will print your images on a variety of papers, allowing you to experience the magic of seeing and feeling your own work as it was meant to be printed.

“Photography has always been a combination of art and science.”

Cheryl will advocate for the art and Eric will clearly convey the science.

This could be the most important seminar you ever attend!

Technical Topics Include:

  • Inkjet paper and how to choose a paper that is right for you.
  • Color Management, simply explained and demonstrated to allow you to achieve reliable, consistent, controllable and repeatable results.
  • File preparation using Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom with a full demonstration of printing on Canon imagePrograf Pro-1000 and Pro-2000 using Canon Print Studio Pro printing software.

Attendees should bring a flash drive with a few images (not 10,000) prepared for printing that are sized to at least 11x17 inches, 300 dpi, RGB, TIFF or JPG format.
