From Film to Print in Under 5 minutes–a printing workshop for film shooters!

While digital photography has finally gone mainstream, some of us still shoot film. Some of us also have a huge archive of film negative and slides we would like to either store on our computer or actually (“digitize, copy or scan” depending on the language you want to use) in to a file that you can print on an inkjet printer.
Well, if you are one of the above people, this workshop is for you! We will use copy stand equipment from the market leader in this product area, Negative Supply, and a 35mm DSLR camera and Macro lens to copy negatives and slides to a digital file and learn how to process and print that file in under 5 minutes.
This is a relatively new method of digitizing film and we feel is the wave of the future!
Epson and Canon flatbed scanners have been traditionally very slow and prone to dust. The sensor technology in these devices is very old and they are notorious for being a bit unreliable and negatives never seem to stay flat. Can you say negative pop? Great quality dedicated film scanners aren’t readily available anymore either. If you have old one and an old computer to run it on then great.
Digitizing your film using your existing DSLR camera and a Macro lens gives you the ability to use more modern camera sensor technology coupled with a very sturdy copy stand system with negative holders that keep your negatives completely flat. You are literally capturing your film frame by frame at high resolution and in RAW format in fractions of a second rather than minutes.
Bring some 35mm negatives or slides and we’ll “digitize” them and print them. It will be fun.
As always, this workshop is appropriate for photographers at all levels and all questions are welcome. In my class there is no such thing as a dumb question.
