Congratulations on purchasing your Canon Large Format Printer from Freestyle Photographic & Imaging Supplies!
Note: (This $199.99 flat fee applies to customers who’ve purchased their printer from Freestyle Photographic & Imaging Supplies only). For other customers, the flat rate fee is $396.00. See Freestyle Tech Support. You will need 4 unit hours at $99 per.
Our resident inkjet printer expert, Eric Joseph, will guide you through the mechanical setup of the printer, installation of all software and training on how to use your printer. Eric guide folks through the mechanical set up of the printer using FaceTime for those who have iPhones and iPads or Zoom or Skype for those who have Android devices.
For the downloading and installation of software and training on how to print using Canon’s software he uses a program called TeamViewer which is a “free for personal use” remote access software or Zoom’s screen sharing and remote access features.
The scope of delivery via Drop Ship from our distributor is curbside drop off. You will need to get some physical help removing the printer from its box, transporting the printer to its final resting place, assembling the printer stand, placing the printer on the stand and securing it with the supplied screws. Eric can advise you as to the best way to accomplish this task but it is your responsibility. You will need two to four people to assist.
Once you’ve accomplished the above, you will also need to remove all of the orange tape from the printer. There is lots of it. After that just plug the printer in to a surge protected power strip. DO NOT TURN IT ON OR INSTALL ANYTHING ON THE PRINTER.
From that point on Eric will guide you through the mechanical set up of the printer including loading the ink tanks, installing the print head, performing the initial print head alignment procedure and color calibration of the printer (we will send you special paper for these processes that do not come with the printer). Then we will download and install all of the latest software and drivers for the printer, update the firmware, adjust the menu settings on the printer to match your lifestyle and fully train you on all of the operations of the printer.
Printer installations take (on average) about 3-4 hours from start to finish. Don’t worry, we aren’t on the clock or anything. If it takes a bit longer it isn’t a big deal.
We also provide continued support after you’ve purchased your printer. Quick answers to simple questions are included in the price of installation. For more involved questions or training please purchase Freestyle Tech Support.
