Using papers by Awagami is a "transformational" experience. From the moment you see your image on these traditional Japanese papers or feel them, the only word that comes to mind is "Superb". Awagami Inkjet Paper (AIJP) has created a series of papers totally unique in the inkjet world with a truly handmade look and feel. Made of exotic, renewable, neutral pH, and completely eco-friendly raw materials such as Kozo (mulberry), Mitsumata, Bamboo, Gampi, & Hemp. Designed for professional Fine Art use, Awagami papers are created with old world paper manufacturing techniques with a strong focus on archival permanence.
Available in European sizes and Rolls, these papers need to be experienced.
The origin of Inbe traces back approximately 1300 years ago. The Inbe clan settled in Awa region and the area flourished by planting Kozo and Hemp. This paper is made with a mixture of both Kozo and Hemp. The light pattern of Su (a screen made from bamboo) on its surface gives a sense of tradition. In order to prevent blurring, a special coating is applied on both sides and thus, it can be printed on both sides (front & back).
Inbe Thin White 70gsm is delicately thin, very soft in texture, but with an unexpected tensile strength. Inbe is one of those unexpected pleasures that creates a surreal feeling in all your prints. It is so thin that a bit of the texture and structure of the paper can show through the ink. A truly transformational inkjet paper. Hemp fibers are used to give the paper extra strength with an unusual softness.
