  HOLGA GOES TO PARK CITY!
Hollywood, California - January 17, 2011
Freestyle Photographic Supplies is pleased to announce that the world-famous Holga plastic film camera will be at an internationally acclaimed Independent Film Festival held in Park City, Utah in 2011. The "Holgawood" collection, which features cameras with ten different colors and corresponding Hollywood themes, will be presented as an exclusive gift at the Fender Music Lodge presented by PEi Event Productions. This marks an amazing feat for a lo-fi plastic camera.

The Holga is a simple plastic film camera that has acquired an avid cult following among artists, photographers and photography enthusiasts. Its ability to take surreal, quirky images that delights and departs from the sharp, highly detailed images that digital cameras produce continues to enchant users. Prone to light leaks, outrageous vignetting and occasional fuzziness, a Holga photograph is a work of art. An Internet search captivates with a flood of Holga images, galleries, forums, and more. In fact, smartphone apps have been developed to reproduce the Holga's trademark lo-fi characteristics. The "Holgawood" collection adds color and Hollywood identities to each camera, such as "Pretty In Pink", "Commando" and "Sunset Blvd." amongst others, making it an ideal fit for the film festival. The Holga's retro-hip styling, combined with this debut, makes it the latest must-have accessory that anyone can afford.

Freestyle and the Creative Center for Photography Present: World In A Jar: War & Trauma
Hollywood, California - January 29, 2008

Freestyle Photographic Supplies is proud to announce a premiere black and white photographic exhibition: "World In A Jar: War & Trauma". This exhibit runs from January 24th until March 5th, 2007 at the gallery of the Creative Center for Photography in Hollywood, California.

The pictorial sculpture WORLD IN A JAR: WAR & TRAUMA curates and re-imagines key components from historical and original images to explore the workings of our collective societal memory involving loss, popular culture, religion, tragedy, and wickedness over the past four centuries.

Using the Shoah as its point of departure, World in a Jar is a free-form montage that rethinks the customary linear narrative format by presenting an archive of what Mr. Hirsch chose to remember, without attaching a fixed ending. Over 800 jars are on display, each one a building block for a new structure. It is a flexible configuration allowing this to be a perpetual work in progress, recreating itself each time it is installed. It permits each photograph to not only present its own split-second historical reference, but also informs the context of the images surrounding it. This open-ended viewing experience, not unlike memory itself, can convey an endless tale that exists outside of chronological time.

Today, Brett's nephew Kim continues to advance the Weston family legacy, holding fine-art photography workshops in the Carmel Highlands of Northern California.
