The Freestyle Crystal Apple Award for Outstanding Achievement in Black & White Photography

The Freestyle Crystal Apple Award, sponsored by Freestyle for the past five years will now be called The Freestyle Crystal Apple Award for Outstanding Achievement in Black & White Photography. Freestyle's goal in changing the eligibility of this award is to provide greater support for students working in traditional black and white silver imaging processes.

The amount of the award remains the same at $5,000. It will be awarded to one talented SPE student member majoring in photography at a college or university.

All light-sensitive B&W photographic processes are eligible for this award including alternative processes. Digital images will not be eligible. The Freestyle Crystal Apple Award for Outstanding Achievement in Black and White Photography is open to continuing full-time graduate or undergraduate students majoring/concentrating in photography at a degree or certificate-granting college or university.
