| Three Generations of Weston |
| An exhibition of fine-art photography |
| September 27, 2007 |
|
No other family has placed such an enduring stamp on the medium of photography as the world-renowned Weston family. The Freestyle Creative Center for Photography presents the three generations of the Weston family: Edward, Brett and Kim Weston.
Edward Weston has been called, "The most influential American photographer of the 20th century." His passion for the creation of realistic images led him to found Group f64 that included photographers Ansel Adams and Imogne Cunningham. *
Edward's son, Brett, followed after his father. Brett took his father's approach even further to create his own collection of masterfully crafted images. His work has been exhibited in galleries and collections across the globe.
Today, Brett's nephew Kim, who worked very closely with Brett, continues to advance the Weston family legacy. Kim explores a different approach on photography with his studio-based pictorial style. He also holds fine art workshops in the Carmel Highlands of Northern California.
At the special opening of this exhibition at the Creative Center for Photography at Freestyle, Kim will be on hand to provide a unique insight into the individual works and into the lives of the artists who created these masterpieces.
*All Edward Westons in this show were printed by Cole or Kim Weston.

Creative Center for Photography
Home of the Freestyle Advisory Board of Photographic Professionals
Located in beautiful Hollywood California, the Creative Center for Photography is the new home of the Freestyle Advisory Board of Photographic Professionals and reflects the group's (and Freestyle's) philosophy of education and creativity.
With this in mind, Freestyle constructed each room to simultaneously serve as lecture/meeting space and gallery space without having to remove fixtures required for each. By integrating exhibit and lecture functions, Freestyle has created a place of learning that engages visitors.
|
"The Creative Center for Photography is more than a group of classrooms," says Stephanie Morey, Freestyle's Marketing and Training Coordinator. "Because it combines galleries and classrooms in one, it becomes a place that continuously informs and encourages. Growth as a photographer should never stop, so the Center invites customers to push their own creative limits every time they enter. We are proud to have it as part of our headquarters facility."

For the Grand Opening, the Creative Center was adorned with some of the finest examples of fine art photography available. Visitors were amazed at the variety and quality of the work exhibited. "There isn't anything like this in Los Angeles," said one customer, her friends nodding in agreement. "It's incredible." And everyone was impressed to learn that the images came from our own Freestyle Advisory Board of Photographic Professionals.
"The Creative Center galleries are designed to showcase possibilities - what can be achieved at the highest level," says Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, Gerry Karmele. "That is why we will continue to feature the finest art photography created by the highest caliber photographers in the world." |

The beautifully appointed learning center prominently features a thirty-seat lecture room, and fifteen seat meeting room with formal conference table and a demonstration darkroom area. |
