Digital Camera Wisdom
What to do? You know that you can't ignore digital cameras any
longer but you aren't sure which one to get or how much to spend.
Read the following words carefully: no matter what camera you purchase,
you'll be ashamed to have it around your neck in three years!
Questions to ask (just a few of the many that come to mind) when
shopping for a digital camera:
- Is the shutter lag time acceptable?
- Will all your current lenses work (and what is the crop factor)?
- Does it have sufficient resolution for your specific needs?
- Are you willing to trade some features for a more compact design?
Remember, you don't wear one pair of shoes for all occasions so
don't try to make one digital camera fit all your shooting needs.
I'm using a Nikon Coolpix 5000 as my carry-everywhere camera (compact
yet capable) and a D100 for more serious shooting needs. But I promise
you, ask me again in a year and I'm almost certain to be using different
models!
Don't freeze up making a decision. Go digital and start having
fun as you learn the new ropes of digital capture!
