William E. Davis, a distinguished photographer, is an Arkansas native. His photographic style is generally identified with that of the West Cost School, as he has worked extensively with many member of the group, including John Sexton, Bob Byers, Henry Gilpin, Ike Fordyce, Don Ross and Roger Fremier

From 1950 to 1990, Mr. Davis was a successful, self-employed commercial photographer. He worked primarily for advertising agencies, as well as doing industrial, aerial, studio, and portrait photography. The work in this book is primarily large-format, "found" images that are characterized by an incredible tonal range and exquisite attention to detail. His fine craftsmanship adds richness to the presentation
