Westcott backgrounds are economical and made from 65% cotton/poly blend muslin. They are hand painted with an acrylic-based paint.

Random wrinkle patterns on backgrounds are very attractive and may be achieved by unfolding the background and stuffing it into a background bag for a while. If a smooth background is preferred, a steamer may be used with caution not to saturate the background.

Backgrounds are not flame retardant.
